Artur Piechocki lectures at IT/TMT School of IP Centrum
14-15.03.2020 Artur Piechocki acted as a lecturer at the IT/TMT School of Centrum Praw Własności Intelektualnej im. H. Grocjusza in Warsaw (IP Center). He spoke on two topics: “The legal aspect of the fake news” and “Internet domains”.
The legal aspects of the fake news:
- Freedom of speech in the international and Polish law,
- The exceptions from the freedom of speech,
- The freedom of speech in terms of the criminal and civil infringements,
- The definition of disinformation. The ways of fighting against disinformation.
Internet domains:
- The world system of Internet domains names – the foundation and functioning,
- ICANN,
- The role of the top domain registry,
- Top domains – the registration models and maintenance,
- The legal relation between the registry and registrar,
- The character of the Internet domain’s name,
- Internet domains’ names disputes,
- The role of the arbitration courts in solving the disputes on domains’ names.
