The latest edition of the quarterly ‘Prawo Nowych Technologii’ No. 2/2024 features an article by Katarzyna Gorzkowska entitled ‘Protection of patient autonomy in the treatment process using artificial intelligence – postulates de lege ferenda’.
The author addresses the subject of patient rights in the context of the use of tools based on artificial intelligence in healthcare. In particular, she dedicates the article to issues related to patient autonomy and the issue of informed consent, which may be threatened by the occurrence of so-called substitute decision-making. The analysis carried out formed the basis for the formulation of de lege ferenda postulates.
