On June 26, 2025, Warsaw hosted the international conference MedSec Summit 2025 — a premier event focused on cybersecurity and data protection in the healthcare sector. As part of the Strategic-Legislative (Onsite) track, attorney-at-law Artur Piechocki delivered a keynote address on cybersecurity and legal liability in the processing of medical and pharmaceutical data.
His presentation, titled “Cyber Threats in Medical Data Processing – A Legal Perspective on Liability,” took place on Thursday, June 26, from 5:30 PM to 6:05 PM, live at the Sound Garden Hotel in Warsaw.
During his session, Artur Piechocki explored the legal responsibilities associated with processing medical and pharmaceutical data, especially in light of emerging cyber threats and the growing use of artificial intelligence (AI) systems. He discussed what was permissible under the GDPR and the AI Act, how companies could assess and manage legal risks in a cybersecurity context, and the potential penalties for non-compliance. Drawing on his extensive experience in data protection, cybersecurity, and technology law, he provided attendees with valuable insights and actionable guidance.
MedSec Summit was one of Europe’s most important conferences dedicated to cybersecurity and data protection in healthcare. The event supported professionals in addressing current and future challenges in this critical area. Its rich agenda included expert-led presentations, interactive networking sessions, and the MedSec Expo industry exhibition. • EU and national regulatory frameworks, including NIS2 and the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA);
• GDPR compliance in the healthcare sector;
• Technical security, including infrastructure, hardware, and Red/Blue Team operations;
• AI in medicine – associated risks and opportunities;
