On December 5, 2024, the 10th edition of the prestigious Data Protection Conference, titled “Key Data Protection Issues in 2024 and Challenges for 2025,” will take place.
Artur Piechocki will participate as an expert panelist in the discussion, “Cybersecurity and Data Protection – Complementary or Separate Protection.”
Hosted annually by BECK Academy, the conference brings together leading experts to explore the most pressing data protection challenges of the past year and the trends expected to shape the future.
This year’s event will feature four expert panels, covering:
- Panel I – Challenges for Data Protection in Poland and Globally. A debate with former leaders of Poland’s data protection authority (1998–2024).
- Panel II – Current Issues Around Consent for Data Processing. The Future of Consent as a Legal Basis for Data Processing.
- Panel III – The AI Act and GDPR – Interactions and Implications for Data Protection Obligations.
- Panel IV – Cybersecurity and Data Protection – Complementary or Separate Protection.
Artur Piechocki will be speaking during Panel IV, engaging with other experts on key topics such as:
- The impact of changes in the National Cybersecurity System (NIS2) on data protection;
- Information security management and GDPR compliance frameworks;
- Incident reporting and management under GDPR and the NIS2/UKSC regimes;
- Planned new institutions under NIS2, including high-risk providers and protective orders;
- The interplay between network traffic analysis and GDPR requirements;
- Cooperation between the Polish Data Protection Authority (UODO) and cybersecurity authorities (responsibilities under GDPR and NIS2/UKSC).
Following the panel discussions, attendees are invited to a networking cocktail.
The conference is organized in partnership with SABI – Stowarzyszenie Inspektorów Ochrony Danych and Stowarzyszenie Prawa Nowych Technologii (SPNT).
It will be held in person at the InterContinental Hotel in Warsaw, with an option to join online.
