Does artificial intelligence help lawyers — or does it expose them to new risks? In the 53rd episode of Wolters Kluwer’s podcast „Prawo na Oko”, titled „Between Progress and Prudence: The Pitfalls of AI” attorney-at-law Artur Piechocki talks with Monika Kozłowska about the challenges and boundaries of using AI tools in legal practice.
The topic is particularly timely, as more and more lawyers openly admit to using AI-based tools in their daily work.
During the conversation, Artur Piechocki highlighted issues such as the danger of so-called AI hallucinations and the related risk of substantive errors, the necessity of verifying chatbot-generated content, and the question of legal liability for the use of such tools. He also discussed data security and compliance with regulations such as the GDPR and the upcoming AI Act, as well as the impact of artificial intelligence on legal work models and remuneration.
Artur Piechocki emphasized that AI will never replace a lawyer’s experience — it can support legal work, but only when used consciously, safely, and responsibly. It is precisely legal knowledge and experience that allow professionals to distinguish a useful output from a misleading interpretation.
The discussion also touched upon the education of the next generation of lawyers — how to build technological competence to remain competitive and effectively support clients in the era of digital transformation.
