6th New Technology Law Conference with Artur Piechocki

In partnership with BECK Academy, we invited participants to join us in Warsaw on November 7, 2024, for the 6th edition of the prestigious New Technology Law Conference. Artur Piechocki led a discussion panel focused on the critical topic of cybersecurity.

The fast-paced evolution of new technology law in recent years played a pivotal role in the functioning of the digital economy.

The event brought together leading experts from academia, business, and the legal profession, including lawyers involved in some of Poland’s most innovative projects, who shared insights and experiences in shaping and applying new technology law.

The conference featured five thematic panels:

• Cybersecurity
• Generative AI
• Cloud Computing
• E-Delivery
• New technologies – legislative and regulatory trends for 2025

Artur Piechocki’s presentation introduced participants to the key issues surrounding cybersecurity. Following his talk, he also moderated the discussion in the panel “The evolution of cyber threats. How does the law keep up with the dynamic changes in cybersecurity?”

The discussion covered topics such as:

• current cybersecurity regulations at national and international level: NIS2, KSC2, DORA
• whether existing legislation can keep up with threats such as ransomware, deepfakes, and attacks on critical infrastructure
• the impact of legislation on technology companies and how they adapt their strategies
• the future of cybersecurity law and possible regulatory responses to emerging threats

The event was tailored to legal professionals working in law firms, in-house legal departments, and public administration.

The conference’s knowledge partners included the Association for New Technology Law (SPNT) and the Polish Association of Corporate Lawyers (PSPP). It was held at the InterContinental Hotel in Warsaw.
